Aerocycle congratulates Air Transat on winning two Mercure awards
Aerocycle wishes to congratulate Air Transat on winning two Mercure awards — for Large Business of the Year and for Sustainable Development — at the Mercuriades awards gala, in recognition of its program for green dismantling of end-of-life aircraft.
Organized by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, the gala rewards the visionary spirit, daring and know-how of companies that contribute to development in Quebec and its regions. Winning companies are inspiring models of success for the next generation of businesspeople as well as all players in the Quebec economy.
Air Transat and Aerocycle have distinguished themselves on several occasions in the field of environmentally responsible aircraft dismantling. In 2014, Air Transat was awarded the Grand Prix Novae de l’Entreprise citoyenne (Novae Grand Prize for Corporate Citizen) and the Trophée de l'Innovation (Innovation Award in Sustainable Tourism).
Also in 2014, Aerocycle co-founder and vice-president in charge of the environment Estelle Beaudry was awarded the prix Arista Jeune leader du Québec (Young Leader in Quebec) in the Social Responsibility category by the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal. In 2013, Aerocycle was awarded the EnviroLys Award in the Innovation and Environmental Protection category by the Conseil des entreprises en technologies environnementales du Québec.
