MAJOR NEWS FOR QUÉBEC'S AEROSPACE INDUSTRY The Bombardier CS100 receives Transport Canada type certification

Montréal, December 18, 2015 — Aéro Montréal, Québec's aerospace cluster, is delighted by the news that Bombardier Aerospace today received Transport Canada type certification for its all-new CS100 commercial jet.

"This is news that we've all been eagerly awaiting and the entire Québec aerospace industry can celebrate today," says Suzanne Benoît, President of Aéro Montréal. "This is an historic day for Bombardier. The CS100 program was made possible by more than 2,300 employees in Canada, including 1,700 in Québec, and more than 200 suppliers across the country have contributed to its development."

The CSeries is a revolutionary aircraft program that reflects well on the Québec supply chain. The technologies it offers in terms of CO2 emissions reduction, noise reduction and fuel consumption make it a unique aircraft on the market and the pride of the industry.

"The support that the Québec government recently demonstrated by investing C$1.3 billion in the CSeries program came at a crucial time for Bombardier," says Ms. Benoît. "With this certification, we are entering a new phase of development that will be beneficial to the entire industry. Bombardier is the flagship company for the aerospace industry in Québec and Canada, and supporting it is necessary to ensure the maintenance of quality jobs in Québec."
