27 September 2012 - AÉRO MONTRÉAL ANNOUNCES THE NAMES OF 10 SUPPLIERS COMPRISING THE SECOND COHORT OF THE MACH INITIATIVE

Montréal, September 27, 2012 - In the presence of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Québec, and of Janice Davis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer of Bombardier Aerospace, mentor of the MACH Initiative, Aéro Montréal has announced the names of 10 new suppliers that comprise the second cohort.

 “Bombardier Aerospace has been proud to support MACH since its inception,” says Ms. Janice Davis. “This program strengthens the competitiveness of Québec's aerospace supply chain by better aligning the communications of OEMs with their suppliers. I am delighted that 10 new companies are joining this initiative, sponsored by 8 new sponsors.”

“More than a year after commencing operations, the MACH Initiative has demonstrated it is effectively addressing the need for suppliers to improve their competitiveness,” adds Suzanne M. Benoît, President of Aéro Montréal. “From the very beginning, we have had the good fortune to be able to count on the support of many partners, both public and private, to achieve this collaborative approach.”

Focused on a mentoring relationship between customers and suppliers, the MACH Initiative helps spur collaboration and innovation within the supply chain in order to improve the performance and competitiveness of suppliers. The 10 new companies that comprise the second cohort of the MACH Initiative and their sponsors are:

- Air Data, sponsored by Esterline CMC Electronics;

- Air/Terre Équipement, sponsored by ASCO Industries;

- Alta Précision, sponsored by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty;

- CP Tech, sponsored by RTI Claro;

- Elimetal sponsored by Rolls-Royce Canada;

- PCM Innovation, sponsored by MDA;

- Tecnickrome Aéronautique, sponsored by Héroux-Devtek;

- Tekalia Aeronautik, sponsored by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty;

- Xiphos Systems Corporation, sponsored by Thales Canada, Aerospace.

 

As part of Aéro Montréal’s Global Supply Chain Summit - Aerospace, Ms. Davis will also officially present the 20 companies that comprise the first class of the MACH initiative with their performance labels obtained under the program. Bombardier Aerospace is the mentor of the MACH initiative since its inception in 2010. They were actively involved in the definition and the implementation of the initiative and contribute, through its international experience for continuous improvement. It also sponsors three companies from the first cohort.
