Aéro Montréal is hiring a Director of Growth

Aéro Montréal, an industrial cluster representing 280 organizations in Québec’s aerospace sector, is seeking a Director, Growth to join its dynamic team. POSITION TITLE: Director, Growth

STATUS: Permanent / Full-time

START DATE: As soon as possible

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Growth is responsible for ensuring the organization, planning, and management (facilitation) of strategic working groups (initiatives) and steering committees under their responsibility. The role also involves developing information networks, ensuring administrative follow-up of initiatives, committees, and various programs, while monitoring budgets and schedules.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aéro Montréal, the Director, Growth is responsible for the following:

 

Industry Monitoring (Intelligence)

 

  • Demonstrate a creative approach to keeping the group informed of industry trends, best practices, lessons learned, and obstacles to avoid.
  • When required, commission external firms to conduct studies that will help guide the operational activities outlined below.

Growth Initiative

 

  • Deploy and oversee innovative initiatives in close collaboration with all members and partners of Québec’s aerospace cluster (industry and academic stakeholders) to ensure the growth of the sector and the organizations within it.
  • Supervise the Defense Initiative Manager.
  • Manage and facilitate strategic working groups (initiatives) and committees under their responsibility.
  • Mobilize participants by acting as an active facilitator and using tactics to gather opinions and perspectives from a majority of members (e.g., surveys).

Missions and Events

 

  • Develop an annual mission program based on the export needs of cluster members.
  • Actively support the organization of national and international missions, enhancing them with networking activities and participating in person, often in collaboration with Investissement Québec International or other Québec organizations (e.g., Québec International). When required, create and manage these missions if Aéro Montréal is responsible.
  • Be responsible for the programming of the Global Supply Chain Summit, a biennial event, and actively participate in partner recruitment, as well as the logistical management and promotion of other events for which the Growth Initiative is responsible.

Reporting and Funding

 

  • Rigorously manage activities through the preparation of meeting minutes, including an action log to track follow‑ups between meetings, as well as reports on international missions attended by the Director.
  • Define and secure funding from funding agencies and financial partners, where applicable, in collaboration with Aéro Montréal’s administrative department, to support the implementation of the Growth operational strategic plan.
  • Support all annual reporting activities to which Aéro Montréal is subject.

 

 

REQUIRED PROFILE

 

  • Undergraduate university degree in a field related to the position
  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, project management, or group facilitation
  • Experience in project management, evaluation, and budgeting (experience within a non‑profit organization is an asset)
  • Strong understanding of the local and international aerospace market
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English, including report and presentation writing

  • Strong organizational skills, a methodical mindset, and the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of Zoho One or other CRM platforms is an asset
