Peter Earle, Acting Director of the National Research Council of Canada’s (NRC) Flight Research Laboratory in the Aerospace division, is the accountable executive for flight operations, ground and airborne research in aeroacoustics, unmanned aircraft systems, cabin comfort, and flight recorder playback. Mr. Earle joined the NRC after a distinguished career in the Royal Canadian Airforce where he served as a Flight Test Engineer, the Senior Design Engineer for the Aurora fleet, a Wing Commander, and the senior military assistant to the Minister of National Defence. Prior to his Director role, Mr. Earle was managing and executing flight tests on the fixed wing aircraft at the NRC including experimental fuel trials, microgravity, avionics upgrades, human factors and advanced airborne sensor trials. He holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Royal Military College of Canada, a Masters from King’s College London, and is a graduate of the International Test Pilot School, UK.
