Marie-Chantale Girard
Vice-President, Policy and Communications
In July 2014 Marie-Chantal Girard was appointed Vice-President, Policy and Communications, after having held, since 2005, various executive positions at Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and other federal organizations. She has extensive leadership experience in the public and parapublic sectors.
During her career, she has developed a regional, national and international perspective, notably during the seven years when she worked in the community and parapublic sectors advocating for, and developing, the women’s workforce. She continues to do volunteer work for a number of organizations.
Ms. Girard sits on various committees, and is Chair of the OECD’s Regional Development Policy Committee. She has a PhD in sociology of work from the University of Quebec at Montreal, as well as a master’s degree in family sociology and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Laval University.
