Next Generation and Workforce (RMO) Working Group

Preparing today the workforce of tomorrow

The shortage of talent is one of the greatest challenges facing Quebec’s aerospace industry. To address it, Aéro Montréal created the Next Generation and Workforce (RMO) Working Group, a collaborative space bringing together companies, educational institutions, and partner organizations.

Objective: Attract, train, and retain a qualified, diverse, and engaged workforce to support the sector’s competitiveness and sustainable transformation.

Strategic Axes of the Working Group

Attract and retain rising talent

  • Promote aerospace careers among youth and underrepresented groups.
  • Develop initiatives that encourage long-term engagement in the industry.

Facilitate recruitment and networking

  • Create opportunities for encounters between talent and employers: job fairs, recruitment missions, networking events, and connection platforms.
  • Support companies in meeting both their immediate and future workforce needs.

Foster knowledge development and transfer

  • Encourage continuous training and skills development.
  • Promote intergenerational mentoring to prepare talent for technological and economic challenges.

A Working Group Serving the Ecosystem

Through its projects, the RMO Working Group strengthens the entire Quebec aerospace ecosystem by building solid links between talent, academia, and the industry’s evolving needs.

It is a strategic driver of Aéro Montréal’s 2025–2030 plan, responding directly to the critical challenge of workforce shortages and the necessity of preparing the sector’s next generation.
