In today’s international context, marked by geopolitical instability and the need to strengthen national sovereignty, defense and security issues are increasingly important for Canada.

Quebec, with its world-class aerospace industry, seeks to play a leading role in these strategic markets and contribute actively to the national defense strategy.

A Strategic Working Group to Mobilize the Ecosystem

To support its members and develop expertise in defense and security, Aéro Montréal created a strategic working group bringing together about thirty members of the aerospace ecosystem — major corporations, SMEs, and institutional organizations.

Objective: Position Quebec aerospace companies on national and international defense and security markets.

Main Objective

Facilitate access to defense and security markets for Quebec aerospace companies by supporting them through certification processes and calls for tenders.

Mission of the Working Group

Develop and implement strategies

To position Quebec companies in major defense and security acquisition projects in Canada and abroad.

Leverage local capabilities and equip SMEs

To support effective business development in this strategic sector.

Collaborate with the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC)

And other partners in the development and deployment of a national defense strategy.

Key Activities

Members of the working group meet three to four times a year to:

Share common challenges and operational impacts.
Exchange on programs and certifications related to defense and security markets.

Collaborate on structuring projects deployed by Aéro Montréal to improve market access.

This working group serves as a dynamic forum for consultation, fostering concrete initiatives and collective mobilization around a common vision: strengthening Quebec’s defense and security capabilities and strategically positioning its aerospace companies.
