Business Transition Barometer – Aerospace Sector
Low-Carbon Economy: Aerospace Manufacturing Companies Show Higher Maturity Levels Compared to Quebec Companies Overall
Montréal, October 26, 2023 – Québec Net Positif, an independent non-profit think tank, today released the results of the Business Transition Barometer – Aerospace Sector. Conducted with the support of Aéro Montréal, this study measures the level of commitment of aerospace manufacturing companies in Quebec to climate action and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Québec Net Positif commissioned the research firm Léger to conduct the survey among 48 aerospace company executives between June 15 and July 17, 2023. Aerospace sector data was compared to Québec Net Positif’s broader Business Transition Barometer, based on 501 senior executives across all sectors of Quebec’s economy.
“The Barometer shows that a significantly higher number of aerospace companies believe they operate within a business ecosystem conducive to transitioning toward a low-carbon economy, compared to Quebec businesses overall — a major asset to engage in a plausible transition pathway,” said Anne-Josée Laquerre, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Québec Net Positif.
“This sectoral barometer highlights that aerospace companies are more likely to identify benefits and opportunities tied to climate action and the acceleration of a low-carbon economy,” added Mélanie Lussier, President and CEO of Aéro Montréal. “These findings encourage us to continue supporting businesses through our eco-responsibility initiative to strengthen the industry’s transition.”
