Aerolia to establish plant in Montréal

The Canadian subsidiary of French company Aerolia SAS will establish its head office and a plant in Montreal to produce the centre fuselage for the Bombardier Global 7000 and 8000 jets, it announced today.

The Québec government is providing $15 million in financial support for the opening of the plant. It will also result in the creation of 150 jobs in Québec within that timeframe.

According to Christian Cornille, president of Aerolia SAS, this support was one of the deciding factors in the company’s decision to establish its head office in Montreal.

The news confirms the place that Québec’s aerospace industry occupies on the world stage. The Quebec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Exportation, Mr. Sam Hamad, rejoiced in the news of the decision in a press release, highlighting Montréal’s position as one of the world aerospace capitals.
